The Parthenon of Japan and other "emigrated" monuments

If you want to see all the great "sights" of the world, archeological monuments, landmarks, etc., you can do so, albeit on a smaller scale, by visiting the famous Tobu World Square in Japan.

The Museum of Monuments consists of 120 miniatures of monuments from around the world, including the Parthenon, the Colosseum, the Great Wall, Barcelona's Sagrada Familia, Big Ben and even the Twin Towers.

The park is divided into five geographical areas - Egypt, Europe, America, Japan and Asia - and includes replicas of monuments from 21 countries. Of these monuments, 45 are Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Among the "exhibits" are 140,000 "people" - about 8 inches high, each participating in the exhibits.

The construction of the park took five years to complete, cost about 113 million euros and opened its doors in 1993.

The miniatures of the monuments and landmarks are made by the company Toho Eizo Bijutsu, a Japanese production company that also made the scenes for the movie Godzilla.

Tobu World Square is located in the idyllic mountains of the Nikko region, about two hours from Tokyo.
