This phenomenal beach is certainly one of the best on Sithonia, and probably the entire Halkidiki peninsula. It is known under several names - Orange beach, Kavourotrypes, Portokali...
Kavourotrypes is actually the name of the 5 km long coast and along this coast there's a lot of coves with white sand and turquoise water. In case you decide to explore this part of the coast, you will come across some fantastic little beaches.
The central cove is called Orange (Portokali in Greek) and it was named after the bar that is located on the beach. This cove is organized and it offers sunbeds and parasols. Since it's very small, it can be very crowded between June 20 and September 10. However, it has a 30 m long shoal, so the water area is almost never crowded.
On the other hand, the other coves that are nearby are not organized so there's always space for you to put down your own beach equipment, either on the sand right next to the water, on the warm flat rocks or a little bit above the beach itself, in the shade of pine trees.
Since there are not enough sunbeds for the most part of the holiday season, we recommend taking your own equipment.
The beach doesn't have any showers or changing rooms. There are Toi Toi toilets. If you decide to visit Orange beach, we advise you to come early in the morning, go for a swim and spend some time there, and then go to some other bigger and more organized beach as soon as this one gets crowded.
The color of the water and the sand is truly breathtaking, so if you visit this beach at the right time, you'll certainly leave with some beautiful memories.
