If warm, tranquil, sun-drenched beaches sound like your kind of paradise, Tripadvisor’s annual ranking of the world's best shorelines—released Tuesday—will help you plan your perfect getaway.
The travel review giant has compiled multiple lists this year, including the global top 25, a US-focused ranking, a special 25th-anniversary selection, and various regional top 10s.
So, which beach claims the top spot? That honor goes to Elafonissi Beach on the Greek island of Crete. Famous for its pink-hued sands and crystal-clear waters, this stunning destination is best enjoyed in May and September, when you can avoid peak-season crowds. This marks Elafonissi’s return to the list for the first time since 2021.

“This year’s lists span six continents and 50 countries, showcasing more than 100 spectacular coastal destinations,” said Tripadvisor President Kristen Dalton in a news release.
Top-Ranked Beaches Around the Globe
At No. 2, Banana Beach in Phuket, Thailand, is a paradise for boaters, parasailers, and snorkelers eager to explore its vibrant coral reefs and marine life. Meanwhile, Eagle Beach in Oranjestad, Aruba, takes the No. 3 spot, boasting powdery white sand, calm waters, and plenty of water activities.
The top-ranked US beach—and No. 4 on the global list—is Siesta Beach on Siesta Key, Florida. Known for its soft, quartz-crystal sand and abundant seashells, it’s especially appealing during the spring and fall shoulder seasons, when crowds thin and temperatures are more pleasant.
Rounding out the top five is Praia da Falésia in Algarve, Portugal, where golden sand and dramatic cliffs create an unforgettable coastal backdrop.
