his Greek entrepreneur is now in politics!

Stefanos Kasselakis and Tyler, share a moment of togetherness

Stefanos Kasselakis, a 35-year-old entrepreneur and politician hailing from Marousi, Greece, has an intriguing journey. He relocated to the United States and successfully earned bachelor's degrees in finance and international relations from the University of Pennsylvania. Notably, in 2008, he actively volunteered for Joe Biden during the Democratic Party primary elections.

In terms of his professional track record, Kasselakis held positions at esteemed institutions such as Goldman Sachs and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Subsequently, he founded SwiftBulk, a shipping company headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Athens, Greece, and London, the United Kingdom.

Kasselakis, an openly gay individual, has been in a relationship with Tyler McBeth, an American, since 2019. His foray into politics has led him to advocate for the legalization of same-sex marriage in Greece.

On Sunday, September 24, Kasselakis made significant headlines by securing the position of president within Syriza, a left-wing political party in Greece. Impressively, he triumphed over his opponent, Effie Achtsioglou, in a second round of voting, garnering 56 percent of the total votes.

Notably, Syriza currently holds the position of the second-largest party in the Hellenic Parliament, with former chairman Alexis Tsipras having served as the Prime Minister of Greece from 2015 to 2019. This suggests that Kasselakis is well-positioned to potentially become the Prime Minister of Greece, given his newfound role as president of Syriza.
