The Battle of Thermopylae took place in 480 BC. (parallel to the naval battle of Artemisio) between the Greeks and the Persians, during the second Persian invasion of Greece.
The battle of Thermopylae is one of the most important battles in Greek and world history. But above all, from a moral point of view, it is a shining example of self-denial, self-sacrifice and obedience to the fatherland. The battle showed the advantages of the Spartans' military training, better equipment and skillful use of the ground configuration.
