The documentary, shot entirely at Mount Athos, tells the story of a community of Orthodox Christian monks who live by Byzantine rules that have remained virtually unchanged for centuries.
For the first time, the director Andrei Oprescu gains access to a world where not even women are allowed, and records with the camera the private lives of the hermits who live in one of the most difficult places on earth to live.
