"The Tear of Liberty": a short film by students about the Greek Revolution of 1821

The short film entitled "The Tear of Liberty" was created in memory of the fighters of 1821, 200 years after the Greek Revolution, by the "Christian Student Action" of Thessaloniki.

The purpose of the film, as stated by the non-profit effort of the students and pupils of the city, is to pay tribute to all our heroic ancestors. The producer of the film is the "Christian Student Action" of Thessaloniki, a branch of the Orthodox Association "Megas Vassilios" (pan-Hellenic non-profit association).

"This film is dedicated to all the heroes we could not meet and honor. 200 years later, we bring to life those moments of martyrdom. Moments brought forth with tears and blood! ", says a related announcement.

The summary of the film

Little George watches in horror as his mother is killed by the Turks. He runs into the forest to hide. The Turks discover him. He runs up the mountain alone for hours. In a relentless chase, he unexpectedly finds his older brother and a friend, and they all run together to be rescued. They have lost everything. Their only comfort is that they have each other. Their only hope is God. The Turks have burned their village, learned where the civilians are hiding, and are searching the whole area to find them. Among them is her mother's murderer. Will the Turks manage to discover the civilians' hiding place? Our heroes, determined to arrive before them, set out on a long arduous journey through the forest with the aim of reaching the chapel of Saint Ilias.

What is their great secret? What is the secret of the stolen handkerchief? What will happen to the women and children?
