The artificial lake of Aoos Springs is a magnificent alpine landscape which you rarely found in Greece and of course, attracts great interest from visitors.
Although it is an artificial lake, its location is the main reason that makes it stand out. It is located in Epirus and specifically in Metsovo, in a very mountainous environment, at an altitude of 1,350 meters and is one of the most impressive Greek lakes.
If you walk around the lake, you will come across beautiful dense beech forests where you can make your own explorations that always end in the lake of the fairy tale, as the locals like to call it. It is not without reason considered one of the most impressive mountain lakes in Greece. The area really looks like a labyrinth in nature where you will love to get lost because you will always discover a new unique environment.
Aoos Springs Lake was created in 1987 for the purpose of energy production. However, in the end, this artificial lake blended harmoniously with the natural landscape around it, bringing the beauty of this attraction to everyone's attention. Aoos Springs Lake is located between Valia Calda and Vikos-Aoos Park.
The unique natural beauty of the mountains, meadows and fjords of the lake compose a special landscape and create images that are hard to forget.
