Concern Regarding a new Outbreak of The Pandemic in Greece

Seventy-five new coronavirus cases and two deaths have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours, a development that has infectious disease specialists fearing a domino effect from at least three outbreaks: a wedding in Thessaloniki where 25 cases have been identified so far, a bar in Volos where four employees tested positive and a meat factory in Kavala, with 24 identified infections.

The total number of cases is 4,662, with 12 people, whose median age is 64 years, are being treated in the ICU.

“Local quarantines will be applied in case we have a large influx of infections in a specific area”, told ERT, Dimitris Paraskevis, associate professor of Epidemiology at EKPA and member of the Ministry of Health’s expert committee.
