At the daily briefing, Health Ministry spokesman and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras, confirmed that there are 966 coronavirus cases in Greece and that 28 people have died. As Mr. Tsiodras said, 65 patients are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, most of whom are men (86%) and have some underlying health condition.
Mr. Tsiodras emphasized that the epidemic continues to spread in our country and that next week is extremely critical, and noted that in order to control the spread in the community, all citizens must follow the rules and measures imposed by the state and recommended by experts.
Referring to the coronavirus detection tests, the infectious disease professor pointed out that the molecular tests are the only one currently reliable, adding that antibody tests are not for this phase of the epidemic.
