Winter in Greece has been connected with Parnassos and the memories it offers its visitors are many and unforgettable. It is the mountain that combines nature with tradition, fun with relaxation and tranquility, but also the possibility to escape from everyday life.

Sometimes it offers great surprises, especially if you manage to reach the top at 2,500 meters as the view will be unforgettable for the rest of your life.

Parnassos took its name from the mythical hero Parnassos. He was the son of Poseidon and the nymph Cleodora, who is said to have built a city on the mountain. Most visitors choose Parnassos in winter for a several days trip to its villages like Arachova and Agoriani.

This mountain of Central Greece stretches over the prefectures of Viotia, Fthiotida and Fokida and its height reaches 2,457 meters with the highest peak Liakoura. It is one of the highest and most charming mountains in Greece.

In fact, the mountain is one of the southern ends of Pindos. It extends in a southeasterly direction and separates the valley of Boeotian Kifissos from that of Amfissa. It is essentially the southeastern part of the great orographic complex of central Roumeli, from which the other two parts, Giona and Vardousia, are only a few meters away.
