Kokkinopilos: The red landscape that reminds of ...Mars
In Greece you can discover places that remind you of landscapes from all over the world. But you can also discover ghostly landscapes that look like parts of other planets.
One example is in the region of Epirus, in Preveza and is called Kokkinopilos. It is an impressive place that inspires awe and wonder and is one of the strangest places in Greece to explore.
The Kokkinopilos area of Preveza is a group of hills about 150 metres high, of particular geological and archaeological interest.
Research has shown that the Kokkinopilos hill complex of Preveza is indeed a unique and impressive prehistoric place.
Nature has created it 6 km north of Filippiada in Preveza. If you are in the area and see a sign of the village Agios Georgios you will know that you are only 2 km away. The wonderful and impressive Kokkinopilos belongs administratively to the municipality of Ziros.
