Among the destinations that stand out, where the view of the waters of Pagasitikos is amazing, is Makrinitsa. It is not by chance that they call it the "balcony" of Pelion, because from there the view reaches even to Volos and to the waters of the Pagasetic Gulf.

The central paved square with the fountain from which gurgling water flows and the church of Agios Ioannis Prodromos is a reference point of the village. From there the visitor can admire the view of Volos and the Pagasetic Gulf. Under the centuries-old plane tree there is a traditional cafe, while the village also has picturesque taverns.

Things to see in the village include the Museum of Folk Art and History, housed in the Topalis mansion of 1844, which was declared a historical monument by the Ministry of Culture in 1985.
