A video-tour of ancient Athens during the Archaic period
The city and its monuments are depicted as they were in 480 BCE, just before everything was burned to the ground by the Persians. The Agora was rearranged to accommodate the public buildings of the new-born Democracy. On the Acropolis stood the archaic Temple of Athena and by its side, the under construction new temple which was destroyed by the Persians, only to be replaced 40 years later by the Parthenon.
