Katapola Village Amorgos: It is the main port of Amorgos that welcomes its visitors with the lovely white windmills, traditional blue and white Cycladic houses, and its amazing Venetian castle. This beautiful region is divided in three settlements called Katapola, Rahidi and Xilokeratidi. Katapola occupies a large bay and is situated at the most verdant part of the island. Some ancient remains of the Cretan city of Minoan and a Mycenaean cemetery lie above the port. Being the main port, Katapola offers accommodations, restaurants, nice bars and cafes. In fact, Katapola and Aegialis are the most developed spots of Amorgos. Katapola is located 6 km west of Chora.
