Pythagorio village in Samos the island of Pythagoras

Pythagorio is a village of Samos in Greece, located in the southeastern part of the island! The population according to the 2011 census is 1,272 residents.The name of the settlement until 1955 was Pan(Tigani in Greek language), so renamed Pythagoreio from the International Organization of Pythagoreans in honor of the great philosopher Pythagoras who came from Samos. Samos is famous for celebrities provided in Greek history, such as Pythagoras, the philosopher Epicurus, the astronomer Aristarchus allegedly planned the first heliocentric map and others. Pythagorio is a lovely cosmopolitan coastal town, particularly in the summer. In place of the Pythagorean antiquity it was the ancient city of Samos.
